4 or 8 oz. tea tin -- filled by volume not weight.

A mild tea of Alder leaves can be used to nourish the blood and circulatory system and occasional swelling. Steep 1 tsp. in one cup of hot water. Drink two cups daily.

Due to its strong tannins, tea of the leaves will benefit occasional sore throat. Use 2 tsp. per cup of boiling hot water. Take in 1/4 cup doses throughout the day. The tea may also be used as a gargle by adding 1 tsp of sea or mineral salt to the infusion.

A poultice of moistened, heated leaves placed on a wound can reduce swelling and stimulate healing.

The leaves, used as a poultice, can dry up breast milk. Cover the crushed leaf with boiling hot water. When cool enough to apply across breast. Wrap into place with clean gauze. Re-apply two to three times daily.

Ingredients: Dried Alder leaves (Alnus sp.) wild harvested in Idaho.
