  • Internal use of Cedar is contraindicated during pregnancy.

Western Red Cedar contains a constituent known as thujone and if taken in large amounts it can cause vomiting, stomach and intestinal cramps, tachycardia, hot flashes, retention of urine, and in serious cases it can cause renal damage, vertigo, tremors, and convulsions. Thujone is primarily alcohol soluble, therefore aqueous extracts contain very little. Aqueous extracts are also less medicinally active.

Storing hydrosols: Most hydrosols will keep for approximately one year if stored at a stable temperature in a cool, dark place. A refrigerator works well.
